A Vision for a Better World Through the Wisdom Horses Teach
I’m Paula Curtis, a lifelong horsewoman passionate about deepening the connection between horses and people. For over 30 years, I’ve dedicated my life to teaching, training, and sharing the profound lessons horses offer both in the saddle and in life.
The Because of the Horse Online Horse Fair was created to bring these transformative lessons to a global audience.
Now in its 7th year, the Fair has grown into a worldwide movement, featuring over 150 presentations from 50+ world-class trainers and welcoming thousands of equestrians eager to learn, connect, and grow.
Celebrating 7 Years of Learning & Connection
Horses guide us to be present, to trust, and to grow. Through the Fair, my hope is to inspire riders of all disciplines to embrace these lessons creating:
Better People… Better Horses… Better World…
I believe riding is far more than technique it’s a journey of connection, awareness, and personal growth. Over the years, I’ve learned how much our energy, emotions, and mindset shape the partnership we build with our horses.
For me, riding is about feel, communication, and trust. When I slow down enough to truly understand my horse what motivates him, what worries him, what brings him alive, I find that new possibilities open up for both of us.
I’ve spent my entire professional career teaching and training horses and the people who love them.
Over the years, I’ve owned and managed three training facilities, and I’ve now settled into a peaceful home just outside of Jamestown, Tennessee.
My passion has always been helping people understand their horses and empowering them to reach their goals. Whether I’m teaching at clinics, guiding riders in lessons, supporting them at shows, or working with them through online programs, my purpose remains the same: to help both horse and human grow together with clarity, confidence, and connection.
