Robyn Hood
Robyn Hood, a senior instructor, is the sister of Linda Tellington-Jones and has been involved with the development of the Tellington TTouch Method since 1982.
Robyn began riding horses before she could walk and has been involved with breeding, training, and showing horses ever since. In 1975, she started importing and breeding Icelandic horses. At one point, there were 200 Icelandics on the farm near Vernon, B.C., and now the numbers are down to about 32.
Since 1986, she has been teaching the Tellington TTouchÂŽ Method on a full-time basis in Canada, the US, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Russia. TTouch started in 1975 with horses, and in 1994, we started teaching TTouch for dogs and other companion animals.
Robyn has also written and published several TTouch-related publications to enhance the ongoing development and refinement of the Tellington TTouch Method, including âAll Wrapped Up: For Petsâ, âAll Wrapped Up: For Horsesâ, âAll Wrapped Up: For Youâ, and âHarnessing Your Dogâs Perfectionâ.
Since COVID, she was able to stay home long enough to develop online courses to teach the Tellington Method for people around the globe, wanting to learn more to help their animals and become Practitioners. Courses are available for dogs, horses, and cats.
She lives with her husband and their daughter, and her family, on their 65-acre farm in Coldstream, BC.

My life has been enriched; they teach us so much about forgiveness and living in the moment. I enjoy teaching people to advocate for their horses and to listen to their whispers so they don't have to shout.

DAY 1
â Â Haltering A Foal Without Trauma
Building Confidence, Cooperation & Body Awareness from the Beginning explores a gentle, thoughtful approach to early foal handling that supports lifelong learning and well-being. Rather than relying on force, flooding, or desensitization, this presentation focuses on educating the foalâs nervous system through choice, awareness, and clear communication. Youâll discover how early experiences shape balance, confidence, coordination, and future trainability, and why haltering is only one small part of a much bigger picture. This session offers practical insights for creating calm, cooperative foals who feel safe enough to think, learn, and partner willingly with people from the very start. It can also be used to help horses that are hard to catch by going through the 're-haltering' process.

In this presentation, youâll learn practical, step-by-step TTouchÂŽ approaches that make hoof handling easier, safer, and more cooperative. Discover how simple groundwork, body awareness, and gentle touch techniques can help reduce resistance, prevent snatching or pulling away, and build confidence in both horse and handler.
