An Alberta rancher, horsewoman, strength and performance coach, and equestrian movement specialist, Janelle is the founder of The Equestrian Motion Coach. Blending her ranch and riding experience with a degree in Kinesiology (the science of human movement), she brings a unique and practical understanding of human movement to the equestrian world.

Growing up on a farm, horses were always woven into Janelle’s life. Without much formal instruction beyond 4-H clinics, she spent countless hours riding, experimenting, and figuring things out. She still cringes remembering the day someone asked, “What’s that smacking noise?” only to realize it was her seat hitting the saddle — and how badly she wished someone could help her understand how to ride better, not just how to make her horse's work better.

That moment sparked the curiosity that led her to her studies of human movement, and eventually to her passion: helping riders understand their own bodies so they can feel strong, capable, and confident doing the things that set their hearts on fire.

Janelle believes rider development is about balance, adaptability, and smooth, intentional movement that flows with the horse — not chasing a picture-perfect posture. Her focus is building riders who can ride all day without discomfort, rope the calf with skill and power, stop the cow before the bush with confidence, and stay centered when the horse spooks or trips.

She teaches with the belief that caring how you ride isn’t just for arena riders, but for the gritty, the practical, and the everyday working cowboy {girl}s whose horsemanship is woven into their lifestyle.
