Paula Curtis is an equestrian educator, lifelong learner, and co-founder of Art of the Horseman and Because of the Horse. Alongside her husband, Jack, she has devoted her life to helping riders build meaningful, lasting partnerships with their horses—grounded in presence, compassion, and practical growth.

From hosting international events like the Online Horse Fair to creating coaching programs and resources like this journal, Paula’s work blends soulful intention with real-world strategy. She invites riders to slow down, reflect deeply, and grow both in and out of the saddle—because of the horse.

Raised on a horse farm and shaped by both physical challenges and spiritual resilience, Paula was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis as a child. She found strength and freedom in her connection with horses, sparking a lifelong mission to help riders find clarity, confidence, and their own unique path.

She lives in Tennessee with Jack, their children, and a beloved herd of horses who remain her greatest teachers.
