I’m Angela Hall, Director of the Equine Massage Academy and author of: Is My Horse in Pain? published in 2024 in the UK, USA, and Canada. I live in Durham, England, though my story begins in California, where my lifelong connection with horses started at the age of two. Growing up in England, I explored many interests, yet I was always drawn back to the magnificent world of horses, dreaming of having my own one day—something I achieved later in life.

As an adult, I spent years climbing the corporate ladder, working across cities like London, Amsterdam, and Rome. Yet despite my success, something always felt missing. That changed during a visit to a local stable, where the sight of horses brought me a sense of peace and clarity.

From that moment on, I knew I needed to pursue a path that would bring me closer to these incredible animals.

Determined to combine my passion for horses with a meaningful career, I discovered the field of equine massage therapy. Although it was met with scepticism from some as I was leaving a successful career behind, I followed my heart and took on a new career – and life, one that would bring me the greatest joys.  My two Thoroughbreds, Shamus and later Joe, became key companions on this life-changing journey.

Once I began working with horses therapeutically, I knew I wanted to share this rewarding work with others. Building my business as an Equine Manual Therapist both in the UK and internationally—from Singapore to the UAE, Hong Kong, and China—took time and dedication. Alongside this, I founded the Equine Massage Academy to educate both professionals and horse owners.

While the academy began with equine massage, it has since expanded far beyond that. Today, we offer 45 courses covering every aspect of horse welfare, wellbeing, and performance, aimed at helping horses live happier, healthier lives. We have something for every equestrian, whether they are industry professionals or passionate horse owners.

My deep respect and passion for horses is reflected in my therapeutic work. Horses, no matter how sore, respond to me with trust, sighing and relaxing as I work. I never use force, as this is unnecessary in any form of equestrianism. I believe in a gentle, ethical approach to all horses.

For more information about my book, as well as the range of accredited professional career courses and horse-owner programs—designed with engaging, watch-and-learn educational multimedia content—offered through the Equine Massage Academy, please visit my website.  We are proud to be fully accredited by the British Horse Society and UK Rural Skills, both globally recognised for their highest standards.

In addition, through our USA partner organisation, Imagine Equine Education, we have programs accredited with NBCAAM, further testifying to the exceptional quality and standards we uphold.

Because of the Horse...

I discovered my purpose, a calling that continues to inspire me to care, to teach, and to strive for a better world for them. Because of the horse, I became who I was meant to be.

2026 Presentations

Angela Hall

DAY 1

★ Equine Rehabilitation: A Guide to Injury, Recovery, and Performance (Part 1)

These presentations (Part 1 and Part 2) provide a comprehensive guide to understanding all the body regions of the horse that may require rehabilitation. Rehabilitation isn’t always the result of injury – it is often needed due to pain, ill-fitting tack, rider-related issues, or incorrect training approaches.

A major reason horses require rehabilitation is that they are not placed in the correct training category for their maturity, body conformation, or fitness level. This mismatch can lead to strain, discomfort, and long-term problems.

Delivered by a rehabilitation specialist, this is the most in-depth knowledge you will find on the subject. Be prepared to gain valuable insights and to reflect on how you manage and train your horse to prevent issues and reduce the need for rehabilitation in the first place.

For horse owners and those working in the equine industry as professionals.
