Peggy Cummings

Peggy Cummings is a transformer – a conductor of information that changes how people ride, feel in their bodies and perceive their horses and life in general. She is an innovator a creator of exercises designed to help horse and human dance together…. easily, efficiently and effectively. She is a master rider and teacher and has the same passion and perseverance for her mission that she began over 40 years ago. She believed then and now ‘knows for sure’ that promoting freedom of movement and reciprocity through elastic connection between horse and rider creates the magic of being ‘in sync.’ It’s the memory so many people have of being on a horse as a child. Peggy’s Connected Riding method has found a way to help anyone recapture that feeling again. Peggy is a dynamic, gifted teacher who has a profound effect on the lives of others.
She is currently teaching clinics and instructor trainings worldwide. She is also working on new educational materials, online learning modules, curriculum guides for instructors with more books and training videos on her mind. She mentors her group of certified Connected Riding instructors and is creating additional training courses for people who wish to teach her work, Connected Riding through her non-profit School of Connected Riding.
Peggy has written three books about her work: Connected Riding, an Introduction, Connect with Your Horse from the Ground, Connect with Your Horse from the Saddle.
Peggy overcame her discomfort from years of bracing in the saddle to riding with the joy and ease as she did as a child riding through the coconut plantations in San Salvador where she was born and raised until coming to the U.S. for high school. Her gift is sharing that knowledge with riders and instructors all over the world. For more information, visit www.connectedriding.com.
