Meet Alexa Linton

A life-long learner, Alexa Linton brings her curiosity, kind heart, and collaborative nature to her diverse body of work. She is a student of the horse through and through and recently celebrated her 21st year with her mare Diva.
Alexa recently launched her newest project, Outside the Box Equine, an educational website focused on species-specific horse-keeping, offering online courses, consultations, and products for those interested in track systems, paddock paradise, and creating or shifting their horse spaces to incorporate friends, forage, and freedom.
Horses are a core part of Alexa's work in the world and have been since she received her certification as an Equine Sport Therapist in 2005. She works as an Osteopathic practitioner for horses and humans, as well as a herd integration/horse-keeping consultant, and a facilitator, with several long-standing online programs and courses, including the Whole Horse Apprenticeship, and as a host of a seven-season podcast, The Whole Horse Podcast, that supports horse people worldwide with open and educational conversations with equine professionals. She is also the author of Death Sucks: A Straight-up Guide to Navigating Your Pet’s Final Transition and a valued contributor to Community Horse Journals.
Because Of The Horse...
I am a better person, more compassionate, humble, curious, patient, and alive.
Alexa Linton’s 2025 Presentations
DAY 1
★ Using Our 'Rectangle' To Keep Our Body In Energetic Alignment And Harmony With Our Horse When We Turn
This training is from my program Tao Riding. In this video we learn to use our Rectangle, which is made up of four points, two in our shoulder's nest and two in our Kwa (inguinal region), to keep our body in energetic alignment when riding turns and corners.
Keeping our Rectangle is something that is applied to all aspects of Taoist training and we can use it in riding too, to keep our energy from blocking and dissipating and to have it in energetic harmony with our horse as we’re riding.
DAY 2
★ An Exercise To Let Go Of Difficult Karmic Connections Between You And Your Horse
This training is from my program Tao Riding. It’s about letting go of the energy of difficult connections, including being connected through anxiety and worry, that keeps you separate from your horse, yet oddly connected to him or her.
Taoists believe that if we feel strong uncomfortable emotions with another, they create a karmic connection between us and we can become locked together in codependent patterns to replay them.
In this video you’ll learn an exercise that will help you and your horse if you experience fear and anxiety riding.
